Wrestlemania 21 a sellout
By JASON CLEVETT -- SLAM! Wrestling
As expected tickets for Wrestlemania 21 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California sold out in a matter of minutes this morning.
Fans frantically jammed phone and internet lines in hopes of getting tickets to the event, but within seconds all that was available was single seats. This in part stems from limited tickets being available due to WWE Travel Package deals and a presale Friday Morning that also sold out quickly. Those left in the cold will now have to hope for tickets to be released closer to the date, or hit one of the hundred of e-bay auctions that popped up seconds after the sell out.
Immediately after, Ticketmaster and WWE announced RAW at the Staples Center on April 4 and put tickets on sale, which are moving at a much slower rate but will likely sell out as well.
Last years Wrestlemania XX at Madison Square Garden in New York City sold out in under five minutes, and WWE will likely hype a similar time frame for this years event. Despite a downturn in business with lower buy rates, ratings and house show gates, Wrestlemania still remains the top attraction of the WWE and a proven ticket seller based on name value alone.
Jason Clevett is from Calgary, Alberta and is going to Wrestlemania. He is happy.
