Show 'Down at OK Corral
By TJ MADIGAN - Calgary Sun

Eddie Guerrero will be bringing his lying, cheating and stealing ways to Alberta in September, as the Smackdown! Live! tour (which has two exclamation marks, so it must be something special) rolls into the province. Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and the rest of the Thursday-night grappling crew will kick things off in Edmonton Sept. 11, with a non-televised event at the Shaw Convention Centre.

The following afternoon, the superstars will head to Calgary for a matinee house show at the Corral.

This is the first time since the wrestling boom of the late '90s that WWE has booked smaller venues for events in Alberta, a smart move on the company's part.

Attendance has been soft for the last few WWE stops in Calgary and it's unlikely a non-televised event would even draw enough fans to fill the lower bowl of the 'Dome.

A jam-packed Corral, which seats slightly more than 7,000, will have a much-better atmosphere than a half-empty Saddledome.

According to the latest updates from WWE Canada, the Calgary event will be headlined by a triple-threat match for the heavyweight championship between Guerrero, John Layfield and Kurt Angle.

Two other titles will be up for grabs, as Spike Dudley defends the cruiserweight strap against Mysterio and Billy Kidman and Paul London put the tag belts on the line against The Dudley Boys. The divas will be in the house, with Torrie Wilson and Jackie Gayda taking on Sable and Dawn Marie in an anything-goes tag.

The Undertaker, arguably the biggest name on the Smackdown roster, won't be appearing, even as a late addition.

Tickets for the Calgary and Edmonton events go on sale Aug. 14 from Ticketmaster. If you can't wait until then to get your WWE fix, Canadian diva Gail Kim will be signing autographs at Toys 'R' Us, 2929 32 Ave. N.E., at 4 p.m. tomorrow.
