TNA: Canada triumphs in Flag Match
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

NWA TNA has put together an interesting card for tonight's PPV Event. They have announced an Ultimate Humiliation Match, a Six-Man Tag Team Flag Match, a Tag Title match, and match in which 3 Live Kru takes on three of Jeff Jarrett's henchman. Now let's get right to the action.

We open with a promo video hyping Jeff Jarrett's upcoming match with Ron "The Truth" Killings.

Match 1- Six Man Tag Match- 3 Live Kru vs Jeff Jarrett's Mercenaries

3 Live Kru pumps up the crowd, then Jeff Jarrett's mercenaries come out. This match gets out of hand very quickly. The action spills to the outside and through the crowd. While BG James and Konnan keep two of the Mercenaries at bay on the outside, Ron Killings goes to work on the other one in the ring. After a solid one on one match in the ring, pure brawling on the outside, Ron Killings hits his finisher and pins the mercenary that he was fighting with.

Winners Via Pinfall- 3 Live Kru- when Killings pinned a mercenary

Afterwards, Jeff Jarrett comes in and attacks Killings. All three mercenaries meet up in the ring beat on Killings and hold him while Jarrett prepares a stiff guitar shot. Jarrett sets up but Vince Russo runs in and holds Jarrett, without looking Jarrett smacks Russo causing Russo to bleed like a stuck pig.

Notes- It was The Truth Commision all over again. These guys came out with the leader shouting commands, they then proceeded to jog around the ring like it was boot camp. It was errr....interesting. Would have been nice to give the guys names, even Angle's bodyguard has a name why can't Jarrett's mercenaries have names? Other than that, nice guitar shot on Russo, pretty damn stiff.

Desire and Trinty Promo is shown.

Match 2- Trinity vs Angel

Trinity dominates the entire match with Angel getting a roll up in. Trinity works on Angel and just crushes her. You could call it a women's squash match. Trinity finishes her off with a 6-1-9.

Winner Via Pinfall- Trinity

Afterwards Trinity levels Angel with a chair, puts her on the chair lying down and does a moonsault onto her. Desire then comes in, dropkicks Trinity chases her out of the ring. Black Shirt Security comes in and Desire levels them both with steel chair shots. Desire chases Trinity and beats on her in the crowd.

Notes- Trinity is a good mix of Victoria and Lita. She used a steel chair, the mentality of the "crazy" Victoria and she used the moonsault and 6-1-9, lucha libre like moves, like Lita. Desire has improved since her entry into NWA TNA. They have shaped her into something. She is making a Trish Stratus-like transformation, if you will, into becoming a solid women wrestler.

Sonny Siaki/Pat Kenney Promo- They say they are proud that they are 100% Irish (Kenney) and 100% Samoan (Siaki).

Match 3-Ultimate Humiliation Match- Pat Kenney and Sonny Siaki vs New York Connection

The team that loses has to be humiliated by whatever is in the box (ie. put on something funny ect.). Match goes back and forth. NYC goes to work on Kenney's arm. They throw him to the outside and continue to beat away on that arm. Siaki gets the tag in and goes to work on NYC. Siaki gets a break and nails his finisher on Glenn Gilberti.

Winners Via Pinfall- Pat Kenney and Sonny Siaki

Afterwards NYC go to leave but are told if they dont put on whatever is in the box by the end of the show they will be terminated, we then cut to Raven/Sabu promo as Gilberti goes into the box to see what's in there.

A Raven/Sabu Promo Video is followed by a Raven Promo. Raven says the Sheik is dead and he will do whatever it takes to get Sabu in the ring. Raven cuts some damn good promos. The video highlighting his feud with Sabu was well put together. I'd love to see this classic match on an upcoming PPV for TNA.

Match 4- Raven's Rules Match- Raven vs Sonjay Dutt

Raven attacks Sonjay from behind and goes right to work on him. Raven dominates and ties up Sonjay's hands so they can be of no use to him. He takes a foreign object and starts hitting Sonjay in the head with it. He slams Sonjay's head into the mat. Raven sets up a steel chair and does his good ol' fashioned drop toe hold onto it, twice, for the win.

Winner-Via Pinfall Raven

Raven's not done there. He continues his assualt on Sonjay Dutt. He ties up Sonjay's legs too and continues to kick him and rub his face in the mat. Raven tells him to call his buddy Sabu. Sonjay calls while Raven chokes him. Lights go out and out comes Sabu but he won't hit Raven, what the Sheik said to him meant so much. Raven tells Sabu to hit him Raven kicks Sabu but Sabu won't hit him. Sabu checks on Sonjay. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes comes out and says that this is enough. He is not happy with Raven's actions.

Notes-This looks to be a tremendous feud and something TNA should expand on. Great future matchup. Possibly Clockwork Orange match, or a Raven's Rules match. Sonjay and Raven is something else they can expand on. Sonjay is a true talent and he puts on some incredible matches. WWE should watch out for him as their cruiserweight division is lacking big time with the losses of Dragon, Jeff Hardy, Spanky, and others. Four solid wrestlers featured in one angle, TNA just don't get much better than that. On another side note, give Mordecai some Raven tapes. He has the same type of dark character, it could only do him good to listen to some classic Raven promos.

David Young Promo- Scott Hudson talks about how he is 0-58. Erik Watts comes in and says he wants Goldylocks right now. She wants his contract and he wants his money.

AJ Styles/Kid Kash Video Promo

Match 5- AJ Styles vs Dallas

Dallas dominates for a good part of the match and really goes to work on AJ. Due to the size difference there is really nothing that AJ can do. He comes back though in true AJ fashion. Kid Kash comes down to the ring and tries to get involved. The end comes when Kash gets up on the ring apron and Dallas sends AJ towards Kash, AJ slides under trips Kash and shoulder blocks Dalls hits a sunset flip and gets the three count.

Winner Via Pinfall- AJ Styles

Afterwards Kash and Dallas attack AJ, but D-Lo Brown comes in and makes the save with a bar in hand. He gets a mic and says he is back to make an impact.

Notes- AJ can carry a good match. Dallas ran into a little trouble with the sunset flip as one of his shoulders stayed up due to an awkward landing. This match really put emphasis on the fact that one guy towered the other. If you want a match to look well and you want a character to look well you have to play their strengths and weaknesses and thats what these two did as their was an obvious size difference.

We go to the back and they show Erik Watts waiting for Goldylocks. Glen Gilberti and Johnny Swinger come in for their interview with Hudson. Gilberti is dressed in an Irish costume while Swinger is dressed like a Samoan woman. D-Ray comes in and interrupts. He asks which way the ring is, Hudson tells him hes not on the card. D-Ray received a good pop and some "D-Ray" chants. Could be something they have here.

Match 6- NWA TNA Tag Team Championship Match- AMW vs Monty Brown and Abyss

Another back and forth match-up with Monty Brown and Abyss in control for a better part of the time then AMW. The two teams get out of control and the match turns into an all out brawl. Abyss hits a chokeslam for a two count. The Naturals interfere and take out AMW with steel chairs and then proceed to steal their ring gear.

Winners Via DQ- AMW

Goldylocks is there during the match. During the match Hudson pulls her backstage.

Notes- AMW has been a solid tag team throughout the TNA tenure. AMW has always been their for TNA to put on a good match and each week that is what they do. Book them and the Naturals for an upcoming PPV and we'll be onto something.

We go backstage where Goldylock and Erik Watts argue. Abyss comes in and beats on Watts. Security then comes in and controls the situation.

We go back to Tenay and West. They hype up the two year anniversary show next week.

We cut backstage where Scott Hudson is shown with Raven. Raven says "The Dream" is right and that he is sorry and next week he will pay tribute to The Sheik.

We go back to Tenay and West and they hype the Six Man Tag Flag match thats next.

We go to an interview done earlier in the day with Team Canada. D'Amore yells at Tenay throughout the interview about how Canadians don't get their fair shake in TNA and in wrestling. Tenay says he spits in tradition's face. Tenay wants to talk to Team Canada but D'Amore won't let him. Bobby Rude asked when they could talk and D'Amore yells at him and tells Team Canada to get out and yells at Tenay that it's all his fault.

International X Cup Video Promo

Match 7- Six Man Tag Team Flag Match- Team Canada vs Team NWA

Great main event with so many close calls and near wins. Elix Skipper stole the show with his amazing moves and interesting reversals. He did a nice walk of the ropes with the flag at one point too. D'Amore actually comes in and grabs the Canadian Flag for Team Canada. They go back and forth with the flags using them as weapons. Team NWA captain Jerry Lynn finally gets a break after so many close calls to get the flag on the pole but D'Amore interferes with a hockey stick. He then passes Young the flag and Young sticks it in for the win.

Winners- Team Canada

Notes- Great match. WWE look out, more talent for your Smackdown Cruiserweight Division. Skipper walks the ropes so well and can hit so many spots that he is a definite future star.

We go backstage to Scott Hudson who is with Jeff Jarrett who says that Russo was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He also tells Killings to watch out.

NWA TNA Promo for the Two Year Anniversary Show. Here's the announced line-up:
NWA TNA Heavyweight Championship Jeff Jarrett vs Ron Killings
Womens Stretcher Match Trinity vs Desire
X Division Title Match Kash vs Styles
NWA TNA Tag Title Match AMW vs Miyamoto and Nosawa

All in all a good show for NWA TNA. Way to go into the Two Year Anniversary spectacular. They know how to promote their events and use their talent properly. They have a great crew of guys and I believe the anniversary show will be a big sucess, especially since it's only $9.95. NWA TNA promotes good PPVs and doesn't beat you to death with prices. Good night of action and can't wait till next week. Congrats NWA TNA on two years of excellence.
