RAW: High in the skybox
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

With one final attempt to sell Bad Blood, the WWE's second PPV this month, the WWE again builds a pretty stacked card. It will be interesting to see the buyrates when they come in. Raw and Smackdown are both selling gimmick matches as their main events. Without any further ado, lets see what Raw has in store for us as we head into WWE Bad Blood.

Stacy Keibler opens the show. She goes on about the Diva Search. Didn't WWE just have one of these? What the hell, I am not complaining. Stacy Keibler talks about how a WWE Diva needs a ring entrance, which leads to her going through the ropes again. Gail Kim interrupts. Gail vs Lita Promo airs. Gail trash talks about her match with Lita. Cue Lita's music. Two of the most pure women wrestlers in the WWE gear up as we go into...

Match 1 - Gail Kim vs Lita

Lita starts off with an offensive flurry. Gail Kim quickly reverses and Lita lands neck first across the middle rope. Lita tries to block Gail Kim from hitting her in the turnbuckle, but winds up getting her leg twisted up. Gail works on the leg and goes for the pin but only gets two. Lita gets her legged wrapped around the post by Gail Kim who has been dominating the match thus far. Lita gets the kick in the back of the head on Gail Kim but can only get the two count. Monkey flip by Lita. Her leg is banged up pretty bad at this point. Gail gains control and gets a leg lock in on Lita. Lita reverses and sends Gail into the ropes, she hits a DDT which plants Gail right on her head and Lita gets the big V.

Winner Via Pinfall- Lita
Notes: New Referee, he even attempted to count out the women.

We go backstage to Eric Bischoff, Johnny Nitro, and The Coach. Coach vs. Eugene is tossed around for Bad Blood. Johnny Nitro made fun of Bischoff's face after Eugene beat Kane. Johnny Nitro vs Eugene is announced. If Johnny Nitro doesn't win, he's fired.

We come back to a clip of what happened last week between Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton.

Match 2- Batista w/ Ric Flair vs Shelton Benjamin

Let me just say Batista is BUILT. He goes to work right away on Shelton Benjamin. Batista pounds on him. Shelton executes a drop toe hold into the corner on Batista. Crossbody on Batista for the two count. Shelton gets caught and bodyslammed. Suplex on Shelton. Another suplex is reversed and Batista is put into the sleeperhold. Shelton dropkicks Batista in the thigh and knees him in the face. Shelton is on fire. He even gets a shot in on Ric Flair who attempts to distract the ref. By this point Randy Orton appears and cheers on Batista who regains the advantage on Shelton. Shelton comes back though with a clothesline from the top rope. Ref is distracted by Orton while Shelton has the 10 count on Batista. Batista comes back with a powerbomb for the 1-2-3.

Winner Via Pinfall-Batista

Afterwards there is a 3 on 1 attack. Shelton is laid out.
Notes- Shelton has really improved and gets pretty decent pops. Batista has the build to be World Champion in my opinion.

HHH vs Shawn Michaels Bad Blood Promo Airs.

Replay of what happened to Shelton Benjamin airs. They show Shelton getting carried out.

Eugene vs Johnny Nitro promo airs.

Chris Benoit and Edge are shown backstage. Eric Bischoff declined a Tag Title rematch according to Edge. An argument ensues between them about Benoit getting speared after Benoit says that Bischoff SHOULD be speared. Coach comes in and says Edge has the night off but since Benoit got involved in Eugene's matches he takes on La Resistance in a Handicap Match tonight.

They show the outside of the arena then cut to The Rock's involvement at the MTV Movie Awards. Rock says he can't wait to come back to the WWE.

We come back to Eric Bischoff on the phone. Trish and Tyson show up. Tyson vs Jericho is announced for Bad Blood. Trish wants a shot at the Women's Title since Gail lost to Lita even though she was the Number 1 contender. Kane appears and Tyson and Trish are asked to leave. Kane says he and Bischoff need to talk. We go to commercials.

Notes- Kane got a pop. I smell a face turn for the Big Red Machine.

Clips are shown of Y2J injuring his ribs and interrupting Trish and Tyson last week.

Match 3 - Chris Jericho vs A-Train

A-Train back on TV. Back and forth battle. A-Train lifts Y2J up and drops him. Y2J gets dropped across the knee of A-Train. Y2J comes back and jumps on A-Train who is draped across the ropes. A-Train comes back and and beats on Jericho. Back Breaker is reversed and Y2J comes back. He applies the Walls of Jericho and A-Train taps.

Winner Via Submission- Chris Jericho
Notes- Can't understand why the held A-Train off TV for as long as they did. Good to have him back.

Smackdown Rebound is shown.
Notes-Smackdown is in a bit of trouble with there GAB Main Eventers. It will be interesting to see how the actions at the House Shows will affect their futures with the company and outside of the company.

HHH enters the ring as we cut to commercials. HHH says that he is going to watch Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton from the Skybox. HHH tells how he has no remorse and says that he has never lost a Hell in the Cell match. He says he knows how Shawn Michaels is religous but HHH says he is not. HHH says that this Sunday, they will both go straight to Hell. HHH leaves through the crowd.

Video of HHH beating Shawn Michaels is shown. Video is shown of Shawn Michaels beating HHH. HHH is shown with the waitress in the Skybox.
Notes- Hell of a fued. It's been very well played out. Let's see what happens in Hell in a Cell.

Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton Promo Airs.
Chris Benoit vs La Resistance Promo Airs.
Clips are shown of La Resistance celebrating their World Tag Title victory. FINALLY! Good idea to put the straps around them. Clips are also shown of Benoit getting speared.

"Oh Canada" is started up but cue Benoit's music. They show Flair and Batista joining HHH in the box.

Match 4 - Handicap Match Chris Benoit vs La Resistance

La Reistance start off strong. Boots to Benoit in the turnbuckles. Benoit comes back with chops on Conway. Greiner comes in and gets to work on Benoit who had lost control due to the double teaming of La Resistance. Hard punch to the face that knocks Benoit down. Benoit gets grounded with a headlock. Conway comes back in. Benoit gets whipped into the ropes but comes back with a kick in Benoits face. Conway takes back control and tags in Greiner. He sends Benoits shoulder right into the turnbuckle. Benoit gets put through the ropes and stretched out. La Resistance both get in on Benoit again. Double teaming right in fron of the ref. Edge comes in and makes the save.

Winner Via DQ- La Resistance

Eric Bischoff comes out and says the Tag Title Rematch will take place at Bad Blood. But right now Edge and Benoit will face La Resistance in a Handicap Match. According to Eric Bischoff since it started out a Handicap Match, it must remain a Handicap Match. La Resistance's partner will be Kane.

Promo for Raw Escape The Rules Show air. Shawn Michales vs HHH in a NYC Street Fight and Chris Benoit vs Kane for the World Heavyweight Title.

Match 5 - Handicap Match Kane and La Resistance vs Edge and Chris Benoit

We come back to Grenier in control of Edge. Conway gets tagged in after a two count on Edge. Edge comes back and drives Conway into the mat with a facebuster. Benoit comes in but gets caught by Kane who gets speared by Edge. Diving headbutt on Kane who just sits right up. Benoit gets the Crossface on Kane. Kane gets out by backdropping Benoit. Chokeslam on Benoit for the 1-2-3.

Winners Via Pinfall-Kane and La Resistance when Kane pinned Chris Benoit
Notes- Way to lead into the PPV. Well done job for this angle.

Johnny Nitro vs Eugene Promo airs. Raw Live Event Dates are announced. We come back to Ric Flair, Batista and HHH in the skybox. What happened between Kane and Benoit is shown. The Coach comes out and joins JR and Jerry Lawler. Clips are shown of what went down between Bischoff, Coach and Nitro earlier.

Match 6 - Eugene w/William Regal vs Jonny Nitro

If Johnny NItro loses he's fired. Eugene gets the upperhand advantage. Quick cover for the two count. Leg lock applied by Eugene. Dropkick to the back of Johnny Nitro. Eugene starts rolling around like a dog then does the urination position on Johnny Nitro. Airplane spin. Double Axehandle off the top rope. 1-2-3.

Winner Via Pinfall-Eugene
Notes- Eugene is so over it's not even funny. Great gimmick.

Eugene and Coach get into an argument and Coach falls of the Broadcast Stage on his backside.

Kane vs Chris Benoit Bad Blood Promo Airs. They show HHH, Ric Flair, and Batista in the skybox. They promote the Bad Blood Card.
Notes- Nice Card for the PPV. It will be interesting to see how things play out.

Just announced- Fatal Four Way for the Womens TItle at Bad Blood. Lita vs Trish vs Gail vs Victoria.

Lita is shown on the phone with Matt. She hangs up and Kane appears behind her. He says he wants her to win at Bad Blood so they can both be champs. She says that she thought it was all over. He says that he lied.

Divas Search Promo Airs.

Match 7 - Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels

Randy Orton gets a standing ovation from Ric Flair, Batitsta, and HHH. Ric Flair, Batista and The Game turn sourfaced as HBK comes down the entrance ramp. Match starts off fast paced. Chop to Randy Orton in the corner. Boot to the face of Michaels. Randy comes back with punches to HBK. He drives Michaels' head into the top turnbuckle. The two exchange punches and HBK gains the upperhand advantage, but just as quickly has he gained control, he lost it. Back and forth thus far. Randy works on the arm of HBK. Randy goes for a quick cover but can only come up with a two count. Chops to Orton. They fight on the outside with Michaels' delivering more chops to Orton. Michaels goes for the axehandle but gets kicked in the mid-section. The arm gets worked on some more. Armbar takedown on Michaels. Punches to Michaels. Michaels comes back with the Figure Four on Randy Orton. Orton gets dropped on his knee. Michaels continues to work on the knee. Michales beats on Orton and knocks him over the top rope and nails a crossbody. Batista heads toward the ring as we go to commercial.

We come back to Randy Orton in control of the match and Batista at ringside. Shawn Michaels gets sent to the outside of the ring and Batista sends Shawn Michaels into the ring post. Shawn Michaels is a bloody mess. Randy Orton comes out and works Shawn Michaels. Randy Orton brings HBK back intot he ring and beats down on him. Sends him into the turnbuckles and then suplexes Michaels. Dropkick right to the face of HBK. One, two, kickout. Headlock is applied on HBK. HBK comes back with elbows to the mid-section and punches to the face of Randy Orton. Flying Forearm and both men are down. Michaels nips up and starts going to work on Randy Orton. Flying Elbow into the heart of Randy Orton. HBK tunes up the band but Batista interferes.

Winner Via DQ- Shawn Michaels

Batista and HBK brawl with HBK nailing Batista with Sweet Chin Music. The Ref gets hit with a steel chair by Randy Orton. HBK takes Orton down and beats on him. HBK uses a chair to dismantle Randy Orton and Batista. HBK hits a security guard and heads toward the skybox. Flair gets knocked down on the steps. HBK and The Game battle it out in the skybox as Raw comes to a close.

All in all an awesome show. Great build up for the PPV. The out of control moniker that Raw has earned was never been more evident in the recent past than tonight. Battles through the crowd, battles in the skybox. The fans got their money's worth but let's see what effect tonight's out of control show has on the first of two, count em, two PPVs this month.
