TNA crowns their King of the Mountain
By JAYA ROOPANSINGH -- SLAM! Wrestling

I've missed the last two weeks of the NWA so I wasn't sure that I could keep up with what's going on. However, TNA just keeps proving they're a driving force in the business. They caught me up to speed in the first five minutes of the program and went on with the action. They also did a great job hyping the main event with five contenders for the world belt. I've missed a roster with more than the same two people contending for the belt.

NWA starts things off with the Aftermath of the World X Cup. Mexico's Heavy Metal and NWA captain, Jerry Lynn take on Team Canada's Petey Williams and Bobby Roode with Scott D'Amore.

X Cup fall out

Roode and Lynn start things off. Roode gets whipped into the ropes and then gets taken down with a head scissors. Lynn sends him to the corner. Roode gets out with an elbow then tries for a slam, but Lynn reverses and sends Roode to the ropes. He tags Heavy Metal and drop toe holds Roode. Metal gets a swift kick to Roode's head and a two count.

Petey Williams in and Lynn comes in with a Tilta World back breaker on Williams. He hits Roode outside with a drop kick. Petey comes off the ropes but Lynn sees him and throws him on top of Roode. Metal gets tagged in and Petey is back inside. He gets thrown to the ropes and makes a blind tag to Roode. Metal thinks he's got Petey where he wants him in the corner then Roode comes up from behind and hammers his back. They get the ref distracted with Lynn for a little double team in the corner. They hit the bulldog off the top turnbuckle and get two two-counts. Again while the referee is giving admonishments to Lynn, Team Canada sees an opportunity for double team. Petey back in to cut off the tag to Metal. Whips Lynn to the ropes, D'Amore trips him. Roode in knocks out Lynn. Petey comes in and Metal knocks him down. Rudy Charles, the ref, gets bumped down and D'Amore is now in the ring. Lynn has D'Amore in a choke hold 'til fellow Team Canada member, Showtime Eric Young, comes out for the save. He knocks out Lynn and Team Canada gets the win. Metal keeps fighting Showtime and the Canadians put on a four on two beating. Sabin and Prime Time come out for the rescue.

Winners: Team Canada

They shoot to Scott Hudson with the rules for the King of the Mountain.

Four wrestlers and three officials. Vince Russo has possession of the belt until a wrestler is eligible for hanging the belt on the dangling hook. The first person to climb the ladder and hang the belt will be the Champion.

A wrestler is eligible after he gets his first pin on another opponent. The wrestler that is pinned has to go to a penalty box for two minutes.

Alpha Male Monty Brown Vs Sonny Siaki

While Sonny's entering the ropes, Brown goes right after him. While in the corner they pummel each other the way only two ex-football players can do. Siaki sends Brown out with a kick to the head. Brown keeps trying to get back in but Siaki keeps him out. Brown gets frustrated as he's not used to being on the defensive. Brown goes out to the crowd. Siaki foolishly follows. At first Siaki is still in control but it doesn't take long for Brown to get Siaki down with a front face slam on the steel bleachers. Brown now ripping Siaki apart. Throws him back to ringside into the railings. Brown tosses Siaki back into the ring for a two count.

Siaki back up and gets a slam but it takes all of his energy. Siaki goes to the ropes and knocks Brown down. He's quick to come back up and Siaki lays in the chops with a snap head breaker, attempt to pin, Brown reverses, Siaki blocks and then goes to the ropes, Brown hits the pounce and gets the three count victory. Swinger and Gilberti come in with coconuts and a grass skirt. They dress Siaki up in the skirt, making fun of his Samoan and Hawaiian heritage. They take out a leather strap and beat him until Irish Pat comes out for the save. As Pat is mounting on Swinger in the corner, Trinity comes out and gives a kick to the side of Pat. It distracts him long enough for Swinger and Gilberti to hit a double team on Pat. Desire comes out and grabs the straps, whipping all three. Pat gets back to his feet to help Desire and Trinity leads her men away from the ring.

Winner: Monty Brown

Back to Hudson with AJ Styles asking about his strategy. Raven comes out and says his strategy is to eliminate the opponents before they get into the ring. He clocks AJ and they brawl.

X Title Match - The Amazing Red VS Frankie Kazarian

They lock up and immediately Frankie shows his strength by over powering Red into a one arm slam. He puts Red into the corner and talks down to him and hitting him with the chops. Red gets out and manages to get two arm drags on Frankie. He gets in one of his side kicks to Frankie, sends him to the corner and gets stopped with one elbow. Frankie goes on top for a drop kick, Red also goes for the drop kick. Frankie gets the worst of it and roles out. Red hits a spring boards dive on the outside.

While Frankie gets in, Red goes after him but Frankie swats him off with a kick. Frankie goes for another kick but misses, Red gets sent to the ropes for Frankie to put him on his shoulder and slam him down but Red misses and stops. Frankie picks him up from there and slams him down to a Mediocre chant by the crowd. Red gets shot to the ropes and receives a scissors kick. Red gets angry and takes off his head band, his momentum off the ropes helps him slam Frankie down. Red gets a two count. Frankie goes to the corner, gets Red in a pin while holding the ropes and still gets a two count. Red gets a red star press and two count. He hits the 619 but they call it a 718 because he's from New York. Frankie still gets up and hits his Wave of the future for the win.

Winner: Still X champion, Frankie Kazarian

Hudson with D-Ray 3000 for his upcoming Gut Check match. If he outlasts his opponent, he gets a TNA contract. The catch is they don't know who the opponent is going to be.

D-Ray 3000 VS Abyss

At first D-Ray tries for the hit and run approach but when he comes off the ropes and sends his whole body into Abyss and nothing happens, he's pretty much done for. Abyss gets him in the corner and goes to pummel him but is intrigued by Ray's afro and comb. While Abyss tries to comb his own hair, Ray hits a chop. This does nothing but anger Abyss. He gets Ray in a torture rack position and drops to the ground. Goldilocks comes out with a briefcase of money. Before she gets to celebrate with Abyss, Eric Watts comes out. Abyss sees him and they brawl. Eric gets his money and walks away.

Winner: Abyss

Russo yells at Eric for showing up after he told him not to. Goldilocks threatens to sue Russo and Eric. She ends up getting back the money. Russo also mentions, Georgie, Watts's wife. He says that he shouldn't have brought her up and then Goldilocks also says, he should go home to his wife.

Tag Team Tittle Match - The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and James Storm VS Kid Kash and Dallas The crowd really went nuts for the sight of Dusty Rhodes. Kash gets on the apron screaming at the fans and Dusty pushes him off then does a little dance. Finally, a lock up and Kash pushes Dusty off to the side and does some jumping jacks. Kash gets sent to the corner and Dusty waits for him. He turns his back on Kash and right when Kash is about to strike Dusty turns around with his elbow in position. Kash puts on the breaks and backs up. Dusty again turns his back and continues to scare Kash with his elbow. Dusty eventually throws Kash out but he gets right back up just to tag in Dallas. Storm then gets tagged in so Kash re-enters the ring. Kash goes for some dives and misses. Both take to the mat trying to get a head lock on. Kash wins out and throws Storm to the ropes, Storm drop-kicks Kash to the floor. He gets mad and throws in some chairs. Storm and Dusty set them up and take a seat waiting for Kash to get back in the ring.

Kash in and Storm goes out. Kash attacks Dusty's leg and takes off his loaded boots. He keeps a spinning toe hold on the Dream. Dallas comes in with some knee breakers and holds him in a reverse chin lock. Kash gets in with no tag and holds the chin lock but Dream powers out of that, showing Kash is not as strong as Dallas. Storm gets in and knocks out Kash and Dallas. Dallas and Storm are outside brawling while Kash puts on the Dream's boot. He goes for the kick, Dream catches it, takes off the boot, swirls Kash around and hits between the eyes. The ref goes for the count but Dallas pulls the ref out of the ring at two. Kash gets back up and Dallas comes in. He hits Dream with the leadpipe and Kash gets the three count victory.

Winner: Still tag champions, Kid Kash and Dallas A.K.A. the new Two Dudes with Attitudes

They go to Hudson with Jeff Jarrett (JJ). He says it's a thinking man's game and his opponents can't out think him. AJ Styles then comes out and takes JJ to the floor.

On the first episode of Impact on Fox Sports, there will be an X Division match up with the winner getting a shot at the X Title. There will also be a 4-corners Gut Check match up and a six-man tag with three members of Team Canada going against Jerry Lynn, Heavy Metal and Hector Garza.

World Heavyweight Title Match, King of the Mountain

Jeff Jarrett (JJ) Vs AJ Styles Vs Truth Vs Raven Vs Chris Harris

Right off the bat, AJ jumps JJ and they battle outside. Truth gets Harris dizzy in the ring and then Raven strikes Truth. Harris hits suicide dive on the both of them outside while AJ gets JJ down in the ring and then spring boards himself over the penalty box onto Truth, Harris and Raven. WOW!!! The "holy (you know what) chants" start. As AJ gets to his feet JJ is waiting in the wings to clothesline him down and gets a two count. JJ then goes for a pin on all the laying bodies but only gets two counts on each one. AJ and JJ battle up to the ladder. JJ drops AJ across the bar. While Truth and Raven are battling in the ring, Harris gets up on the cage and hits them both. The three empty the ring again as AJ and JJ make their way in. JJ goes for the Stroke but AJ reverses and gets the three count. JJ is in the Penalty box for two minutes and AJ goes for the ladder.

As Truth and Harris try to stop him, AJ fights them off while Raven gets the ladder. When AJ turns around, Raven smashes the ladder in AJ's face, crushing him between the ladder and the cage. Harris then spears Raven down and gets a three count. Raven and JJ are now conspiring together in the cage. AJ gets Harris out of the ring and goes up the ladder. Truth is now up and cuts AJ off at the top. They have a tug of war for the belt and both go flying backwards off the ladder to the floor. JJ time is now up and he's out of the box going after Truth. Harris back in the ring and nails AJ. He grabs the belt from AJ and goes for the ladder. Truth fights off JJ, Harris drops the belt and Truth nails him with a drop kick as he's reaching for the belt from the ladder. Truth then pins Harris for a three count. Harris goes in the cage and brawls with Raven but his time runs out and is allowed to leave.

Truth goes for the ladder, JJ power bombs him off. JJ sets the ladder up in the corner and sends Truth into it. Raven gets AJ and together with JJ they send AJ into the ladder. While JJ continues to beat on AJ, Raven goes outside to add some tables to the mix. Raven and JJ use the ladder to ram Truth and AJ over and over again. As the countdown for Harris' release begins, Raven sets himself outside the cage and attacks Harris as soon as he gets out. Raven goes back and puts a third table into the ring. He again grabs one end of the ladder while JJ has the other and rams Truth and AJ again. Truth gets in front of AJ and finally ducks the ladder but that just nails AJ. They drop the ladder across the back of Truth. AJ goes for a side kick but misses, and ends up on top of the ladder. He's kicking Raven and punching JJ so the two hoist the ladder up and dump both the ladder and AJ over the top to the floor.

Raven sets up a table in the corner while JJ sets up a chair in the ring for Raven's drop toe hold. They begin to argue and Raven puts the drop toe hold on JJ. Harris comes in and nails Raven with an elbow, Truth comes in to take out JJ. Harris gets whipped to the ropes and then nails a flying elbow, Truth slams JJ with a flying forearm. Harris and Raven battle outside into the crowd. Truth sets up the ladder, Russo hands him the belt. AJ hits a drop kick sending Truth down. AJ goes up the ladder and JJ tries to power bomb him off but AJ uses his leg strength to flip JJ, both go out, Harris back in and goes for the ladder, Raven throws powder in his eyes and gets a three count. Raven goes up but Truth drives him face first into the turnbuckle. JJ gets Truth with a clip to the knees. He hits the Stroke and the pin. Russo refuses to give the belt to JJ. AJ comes from behind and rolls JJ up for the pin again. JJ in the penalty box while Russo coaches AJ to grab the belt and go up the ladder.

Raven tries to stop him, Harris comes out and throws the ladder. Again AJ is caught between the cage and the ladder and this time he's almost knocked out cold. Harris and Raven are on top of the ladder battling for the belt. Harris gets it and pushes Raven off through the table. Truth gets up and pushes Harris the other way. Truth up but JJ is now out of the box and slams Truth in the head with a guitar. JJ gets to the top but the hook has broken off and he has to reattach it. This gives AJ some time to get up but JJ hooks everything together before AJ can reach the top.

Winner: New Champion, Jeff Jarrett.
