Get ready for round two of hip hop hammering, as Def Jam and EA Sports will
be issuing the second game in the Vendetta series this fall.
The new game, simply titled Def Jam Vendetta II, will feature 70 fighters,
of which approximately half will be some of the hottest names in rap, including
Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dog and Ludacris. Female characters, such as Lil' Kim and
Carmen Electra, will also be a part of the title.
The game is the follow-up to the very popular Def Jam Vendetta title, which
was released in 2002. The relationship between the two companies, as Def Jam
President and CEO Kevin Liles said in a release, has been ground-breaking for
the two industries. "The Def Jam-EA relationship is once again on the forefront
of industry-leading entertainment with Def Jam VENDETTA II," he said. "By
fusing hip-hop culture with innovative, addictive gameplay, Def Jam VENDETTA
II is the ultimate interactive hip hop lifestyle product. It redefines the gaming
experience."
Def Jam Vendetta II will be available for Playstation 2, X-Box and Nintendo
Gamecube. It is currently slated for a fall 2004 release.
