Dacamara sent back to jail

WINNIPEG -- Pro wrestling hopeful John (Johnny Wise Guy) Dacamara was body-slammed by the province's highest court yesterday and sent back to the slammer to serve the rest of his prison sentence.

Dacamara, 32, was appealing the 30-month term he received after being convicted last October of trafficking cocaine.

Dacamara, who had aspirations of one day working with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), was arrested on June 29, 2002, when police busted him with 34 half-grams of rock cocaine and one eight-ball of powdered coke.

He told authorities he'd come home from a wrestling trip to find the utilities in his residence had been cut off. He claimed he was forced to sell drugs to raise money to have them turned back on.

The story might have been more convincing had he not been arrested on a similar charge in July 2001. He was fined $1,500 after pleading guilty to simple possession.

Dacamara's bid to the Manitoba Court of Appeal was dismissed yesterday.
