    Hart home feels 'empty'
By PABLO FERNANDEZ -- Calgary Sun

The house will not be torn down, but it may be sold.

"I'm sure that whatever the family decides to do will be the right thing," she said.

The Hart House is where the family gathered to absorb the tragic losses of Stu's son Owen following an accident during a 1999 WWF fight, the sudden loss of Stu's son-in-law Davey Boy Smith and the death of a grandson to flesh-eating disease.

The house was built in 1905 for the Edward Henry Crandell family, who lived there until 1920, at which time the Brickburn War Orphans' Home was officially opened.

Members of the Crandell family inhabited the house from 1929 until 1951 when Stu purchased the southwest Calgary home.

The house's basement, known as The Dungeon, was the training ground for dozens of wrestling stars, including Stu's son Bret "Hitman" Hart.

The house was often filled with pets and invited strangers who had an affinity for wrestling and an interest in Stu's stories.

But the house is now filled more with more memories than purpose, said Neidhart.

"Without my grandparents, this house is just empty."
