Canadians anxiously awaiting the forthcoming Ric Flair DVD will have to wait
a little bit longer to get their hands on the three-disc compilation.
"Our tentative street date for this title is January 27, 2004," says David
Jacques of Koch Canada, Canadian distributors for World Wrestling
Entertainment video products.
The reason for the delay is due to different regulations for videos
distributed in Canada than in the States, according to Jacques. "The delay
is due to our manufacturing structure and rating system (which can take up
to 4 weeks)," he says. "The U.S. do not have to work with rating boards,
hence why they are able to get their product out quicker."
The Flair DVD is one of the most anticipated recordings. Rumors have been
rampant for months about the content of the seven-hour plus set, with
speculated matches including bouts against Harley Race, Triple H and others.
Other rumored parts of the DVD include Flair's WWF title win from Royal
Rumble 1992 and footage of the Four Horsemen.
While Jacques could not confirm a match list, he did say the content of the
DVD would cover the different stages of Flair's career. "As far as I know,
it is a 3 DVD set with over 7 hours of content," he says. "One disc is
dedicated to his time in the WWE, the other to WCW and the third to various
other wrestling associations that he has been a part of (i.e.: AWA etc.)."
