Precious Lucy heading to Japan; becoming LuFisto
MIKE ALTAMURA -- SLAM! Wrestling
The Sorel, Quebec resident has watched many Joshi matches to prepare for the AtoZ style of wrestling and her self-imposed hiatus from wrestling (barring
her second tour of Mexico) since late-June has given her unremittingly sore right knee adequate time to recover. Lucy has furthermore hit the gym every day
in preparation, and told SLAM! Wrestling that physically, "I believe that I never felt so good."
In her head though, she is uncertain. "Mentally, I don't know. I'm such a perfectionist that I'm afraid to mess up; not be good enough," she revealed.
But she has one thought she'll use to motivate herself. "I'll go through this with my head up high because I will have one thing on my mind - All those
people who told me I wouldn't do anything good in this business, those who told me I was too fat when I started - It feels a bit like a sweet revenge. I did
what I intended to do."
Lucy looks forward to training in Japan, going sight-seeing with her fellow Z-Spirits members, and cutting promos and interviews. The woman known for her
fearless tendencies also expresses hope that she'll be given the opportunity to perform "a bit of hardcore" while in the Orient.
After all the adversities, all the blood, sweat, and tears she's shed to make her dream a reality, Lucy sees success in Japan as the only thing left to
accomplish - at least for the moment. The legacy of LuFisto is just about to begin. There are indubitably many more chapters still to be written.
