TNA hires ex-iN DEMAND exec, opens NY office

Nashville - TNA Entertainment announced today that it has hired Frank Romano as Chief Operating Officer. Romano was Vice President of Event Programming & Operations for iN DEMAND. In addition, TNA Entertainment also announced the opening of a TNA office in Manhattan. Romano will work out of the New York branch.

TNA Entertainment produces TNA Wrestling, the first-ever weekly wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) series available in the United States on iN DEMAND, DirecTV, TVN, plus Viewer's Choice in Canada and Bell Expressvu in Canada.

"Frank has been a supporter of TNA since its debut in June of 2002, and we're thrilled to have him on board," said Jeff Jarrett, founder and executive vice president of TNA entertainment. "TNA's first year has been extremely successful, and Frank's experience and enthusiasm for the product will accelerate the company's growing success."

"I'm looking forward to utilizing my experience in the pay-per-view industry for TNA. With TNA being the only 52 week, live pay-per-view programming, we have a unique opportunity," Romano said. "TNA has a very progressive business structure, and it has quickly established itself as the definitive alternative to WWE in the market of wrestling and sports entertainment."

Both Jarrett and Romano are excited about the New York office. "Establishing a presence in New York will solidify TNA as a major player in the industry," Jarrett said. The New York office opened for business June 23, 2003.
