Ring-a-ding-dong dandy

It\'s not often Sabu and Ralph Klein get invited to the same event, so expect a few Kodak moments when wrestling\'s homicidal maniac and the Alberta premier get together in Calgary on Friday.

The occasion is a joint celebration to mark Stu Hart\'s 88th birthday and the 50th anniversary of Stampede Wrestling.

For one night only, Stampede will return to its old stomping grounds -- the Victoria Pavilion -- where Stu ran weekly wrestling shows from 1952 to the early \'90s.

With the WWE deciding to bypass Calgary on its Canadian tour this summer, the Stampede Wrestling anniversary show-cum-birthday bash looks set to be the hottest grappling ticket in town.

The lineup for the big night will be a mixed bag of recognized names, nostalgia acts and, of course, the stars of tomorrow.

The main event will see AJ Styles and the Black Dragon taking on Calgary\'s own Harry Smith and TJ Wilson in what should be an awesome tag-team collision.

The semi-main for the show will be a hardcore match between Sabu and Ted Hart, which I\'m expecting to be a show-stealer.

The \'next big thing\' expression has become cliche in wrestling circles but, in Ted Hart\'s case, it\'s a pretty accurate description. The 22-year-old Calgarian has ring psychology far beyond his years, combining a solid submission-based style with believable use of otherwise unbelievable high-spots. Add this to Sabu\'s borderline-masochistic antics and we have the ingredients for something special.

The card will also see Nattie Neidhart -- the first-ever female third-generation wrestler -- taking on her long-time Stampede rival, Belle Lovitz.

Bruce Hart will be in action against Principal Richard Pound and there\'ll be a tag-team match involving Apocalypse, Juggernaut, Dave (The Rave) Swift and Highlander.

The lineup will be rounded out with a six-man tag, pitting Duke Durrango, Johnny Devine and Randy Myers against Kwik Kick Kirk, Jason Carter and red-hot up-and-comer Rod Rage.

Tickets are at Ticketmaster.
