WWE reports on WrestleMania's success

STAMFORD, CT, - The WWE reports that WrestleMania XIX drew 54,097 fans from all 50 states including Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and numerous countries from around the world to become the largest event ever held at Seattle's SAFECO Field. The gate attendance generated more than $2.76 million.

Adding to the record-setting weekend, Fan Axxess, a three-day fan festival preceding WrestleMania, brought more than 10,000 fans closer than ever to the WWE Superstars for photos, autographs, and interactive exhibits. As part of Fan Axxess, WWE Superstars donated their time to take photos with fans, which raised more than $37,000 for American Diabetes Association.

The WWE announced at the close of tonight's event that Madison Square Garden, home of the first WrestleMania and WrestleMania X, would be the location of WrestleMania XX on March 14, 2004.
