WWE to welcome Goldberg tonight?
By TIM BAINES -- Ottawa Sun

With Wrestlemania packing such a wallop, its star-studded cast promising perhaps the best wrestling extravaganza in history, it\'s hard to imagine that anything could upstage the WWE\'s Super Bowl.

But two words, one man, have done just that.

Bill Goldberg.

The WWE has signed the former WCW star and could unveil him as early as tonight at the four-hour Wrestlemania at Seattle\'s Safeco Field. The show will run from 8 p.m.-midnight.

WWE actually signed Goldberg two weeks ago, but kept the news under wraps. He will appear on the cover of the next RAW magazine and if he doesn\'t appear at Wrestlemania tonight, he could show up either tomorrow on RAW or Thursday on Smackdown!

WWE had originally planned a Goldberg-Rock feud, but that may not work out because of Rock\'s limited time left in WWE. It\'s expected he will resume his movie career sometime late this spring or early summer.

Perhaps Goldberg could be the next target for Triple H, who always likes to stick his nose into the thick of things and has enough backstage clout to make this happen.

Any of the top five matches at Wrestlemania are solid enough to headline a pay-per-view:

- The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin? As much as we love Austin, this could be a victory for The Rock, with Austin winning the rematch next month.

- Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon? We like Hogan to overcome a lot of treachery to wag his finger at McMahon and win this one.

- Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle? Look for Angle, despite a ton of neck pain, to put on a helluva show before losing his title to Lesnar. Angle will have surgery sometime shortly after this match.

- Booker T vs. Triple H? We love Booker, but Triple H is The Game and he\'s got help from Ric Flair.

- Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho? The Heartbreak Kid will pour his heart into this, but it could be Jericho getting the win.

- The Undertaker and Nathan Jones vs. The Big Show and A-Train? You won\'t see a lot of wrestling moves here. We\'ll pick \'Taker and Jones.

- Los Guerreros vs. Team Angle\'s Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas vs. Rhyno and Chris Benoit? Should be a great match. We pick Los Guerreros.

- Matt Hardy vs. Rey Mysterio? Potential for another great match, we\'ll take Mysterio.

- Trish Stratus vs. Victoria vs. Jazz? We\'ll take Victoria to keep her women\'s title.

AROUND THE RING: WWE has released announcer Kevin Kelly ... Jericho\'s band Fozzy lost the Battle of the Bands on the Howard Stern Show to Stern\'s band, The Losers. On the show, Jericho reportedly said his wife is pregnant with their first child ... We hoped The Undertaker would return in his dead-man image, now we have to hope Kevin Nash returns to his Diesel gimmick when he comes back. It would be great to see him re-united with old buddy, Michaels. ... Austin will put together the next book featured by WWE ... Tickets for the May 5 RAW in Halifax sold out in an hour. Smackdown! will be taped in Halifax the following night
