Through two days at the Canadian World Cup Team Trials, Jamie Gregg is feeling as good as he’s ever felt this early in the long-track speedskating season.

With the torch set to be lit at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in less than four months, the Calgarian’s been dominant this week at the Olympic Oval, winning both the men’s 500-metre race Thursday and the 1,000-metre race Friday.

“These are the fastest times I’ve ever done in trials in the fall,” said Gregg, who finished 10th at the world championships in March. “I’ve got to make sure I’m not content with where I’m at and I keep building into World Cups and all the way to Olympic trials and, hopefully, the Olympics.”
