Canada is off to a good start at the All England Club.

Eugenie Bouchard won her first-round Wimbledon match Monday. The 19-year-old from Westmount, Que., defeated Kazakhstan's Galina Voskoboeva 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-4.

Bouchard, ranked 66th in the world, next faces former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic.

It’s Bouchard’s first appearance at the Grand Slam tournament as a senior player. She won the event as a junior last year.

Vasek Pospisil also won his first-round match, beating France’s Marc Gicquel in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (3).

The 23-year-old from Vernon, B.C., faces Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny in the second round.
