Eugenie Bouchard is withdrawing from next week's Citi Open in Washington, D.C., according to the New York Times.

The Wimbledon finalist, the top seed at the tournament and a major draw due to her breakout season, may be seeking some extra time off before heading to the Rogers Cup in Montreal at the beginning of August.

The 20-year-old Montreal native is dealing with a slight knee injury following the French Open, where she reached the semifinals. She was also a semifinalist at the Australian Open.

Bouchard, ranked seventh on the WTA Tour, won her first singles title at the Nuremberg Cup in late May.
