Wozniak moves on to Budapest quarters
By QMI AGENCY

Aleksandra Wozniak advanced Wednesday to the quarterfinals of a WTA event for the first time in two years.

Wozniak, from Blainville, Que., beat world No. 74 Alexandra Cadantu of Romania 6-7 (2), 6-0, 6-0 in the second round of the Budapest Grand Prix in Hungary, the first time she's made it to the quarters since the 2010 Ponte Vedra Beach tournament.

The 24-year-old had a tough day serving, racking up seven double faults while hitting just 51% of her first serves, but she made quick work of Cadantu after dropping the opening set in a tiebreaker.

Wozniak, ranked 57th in the world, will face No. 81 Anna Tatishvili of Georgia in the quarterfinals Thursday. They met twice in 2011, with both players winning once.

Top-seeded Sara Errani of Italy also moved on to the quarters with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 win over Hungarian qualifier Melinda Czink.
