BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - Former world No. 1 star Kim Clijsters will have to rest for four weeks due to a torn hip muscle.

The four-time Grand Slam champion was slowed with hip pain last week at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, where she was upset by fellow Belgian Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets in the third round.

The oft-injured Clijsters has a small muscle tear in her right hip and will likely be out of commission until the first week of May.

According to her website, she expects to return for an event in Madrid, which begins May 5.

The 28-year-old Clijsters plans on retiring from tennis, for a second time, following this summer's Olympic Games in London.

Do you think it's a good idea for the U.S. Open to hold the men's final on a Monday?
