Eye injury sidelines Wozniak
By QMI Agency

Canadian tennis star Aleksandra Wozniak has withdrawn from three tournaments because of an eye injury.

Wozniak, who was struck by the ball when it ricocheted off the net during a semifinal match Saturday at the Albuquerque Challenger in New Mexico, has hemorrhaging in the back of the left eye, near the retina.

Wozniak's vision has improved, however, and she will not require surgery.

Wozniak has withdrawn from Challenger events in Las Vegas, Kansas City and Troy but hopes to play in WTA events in Europe next month.

Do you think it's a good idea for the U.S. Open to hold the men's final on a Monday?
