New Haven, CT - World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki cruised past Czech qualifier Petra Cetkovska to capture her fourth straight New Haven Open title.

Wozniacki improved to 17-0 in New Haven with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Cetkovska on the hardcourts at Yale University.

Wozniacki is the 10th woman in the Open Era to win the same title four years running, and first since Venus Williams, who won New Haven four times consecutively from 1999-2002.

The victory gives Wozniacki a 6-2 mark in finals this year. She improved to 18-10 lifetime in title matches.

Cetkovska was appearing in her first career final.

Wozniacki will try to continue her solid season at the U.S. Open, which starts Monday in New York. She will face Nuria Llagostera Vives of Spain in the first round.

The Dane has never won a major title, but reached the U.S. Open final in 2009.

The start time for Saturday's final was moved up four hours to 1 p.m. (et) due to potential problems caused by Hurricane Irene. Rain did delay the match for a brief period in the first set.

The 2011 New Haven titlist will earn $103,000.
