Wozniacki reaches Charleston semis
By Sports Network

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki needed all three sets to sneak past Belgian slugger Yanina Wickmayer in Friday's quarterfinals at the $721,000 Family Circle Cup tennis event.

The 2009 Charleston runner-up Wozniacki had to fight all the way to overcome a sixth-seeded Wickmayer 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in 2 hours, 22 minutes on the green clay at Family Circle Tennis Center.

The 20-year-old Dane will meet third-seeded Serb Jelena Jankovic or 18- year-old American Christina McHale in Saturday's semifinals. The former world No. 1 Jankovic captured this event back in 2007.

Wozniacki has already titled in Dubai and Indian Wells this season.

This week's winner will claim $111,000.
