DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Caroline Wozniacki and Svetlana Kuznetsova each earned semifinal victories on Saturday to reach the final at the $2.05 million Dubai Tennis Championships.
Wozniacki, this week's top seed, regained the No. 1 overall ranking with a quarterfinal win over Israeli Shahar Peer on Friday and followed that up with a 7-5, 6-3 decision over sixth-seeded Jelena Jankovic of Serbia.
Jankovic, a former No. 1 herself, had beaten the Dane in their previous four meetings, but had her serve broken five times in the one-hour, 48-minute match on the hardcourts at Dubai Tennis Stadium.
The 20-year-old Wozniacki is 3-2 in her career against Kuznetsova, a 6-4, 6-4 winner over the 11th-seeded Italian Flavia Pennetta on Saturday.
Kuznetsova, the 16 seed here, was the Dubai runner-up in 2004 and 2008.
Sunday's winner will collect $360,000.
