Ivanovic lands in Pattaya City quarters
By Sports Network

PATTAYA CITY, Thailand -- Former world No. 1 star Ana Ivanovic was among Wednesday's second-round winners at the $220,000 Pattaya Open tennis event.

The second-seeded Serbian Ivanovic had to come from behind to top 36-year-old American Jill Craybas 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 on the hardcourts at Dusit Thani Hotel.

The former French Open champion Ivanovic will meet fifth-seeded Italian Roberta Vinci in Friday's quarterfinals. Vinci handled Chinese Zhang Shuai 7-5, 6-1 on Day 3.

Two other second-round affairs saw Kazakhstani qualifier Galina Voskoboeva topple third-seeded Russian Maria Kirilenko 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 and sixth-seeded Chinese Peng Shuai overcome Brit Elena Baltacha 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.

On Thursday, top-seeded and reigning two-time Pattaya City champion Vera Zvonareva will play her second-rounder against Thai qualifier Nungnadda Wannasuk. The Russian world No. 3 Zvonareva, last year's U.S. Open and Wimbledon runner-up, beat Thai crowd favorite Tamarine Tanasugarn in last year's finale here.

The 2011 Pattaya City winner will collect $37,000.
