ANTWERP, Belgium -- Former world No. 1 stars Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin are considering playing doubles together at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The Belgian rivals said at a press conference on Thursday that they would consider the idea, they would just need to sort out their schedules.

Clijsters and the seven-time Grand Slam singles titlist Henin played doubles together back in 2006, losing to a Russian tandem in a meaningless encounter in the Fed Cup quarterfinals. Team Belgium had already defeated Russia prior to that doubles rubber in Henin's hometown of Liege.

The 2004 Athens Olympic singles champion Henin has not played any tennis since suffering an elbow injury against Clijsters, who has never competed in the Olympics, in the fourth round at Wimbledon this past summer.

The three-time U.S. Open champion Clijsters is the two-time reigning champion in New York.
