LINZ, Austria -- Former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic booked a spot in the semifinals, while her fellow former Linz champion Daniela Hantuchova came up a quarterfinal loser Friday at the $220,000 Generali Ladies Linz tennis event.

The seventh-seeded 2008 Linz titlist Ivanovic got past German Julia Goerges 7-6 (8-6), 6-2, while the second-seeded 2007 winner Hantuchova was humbled by two-time Linz runner-up Patty Schnyder 6-4, 6-4 on the indoor hardcourts at Intersport Arena. The Swiss lefthander Schnyder avenged her 2007 finale loss here against Hantuchova. The veteran Schnyder was also the runner-up here back in 2005.

The former French Open champion Ivanovic will meet Italian Roberta Vinci in Saturday's semis. Vinci came from behind to oust her ninth-seeded fellow Italian Sara Errani 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 on Day 5.

Saturday's other semi will pit Schnyder against sixth-seeded German Andrea Petkovic, who drilled Greek qualifier Eleni Daniilidou, 6-3, 6-2.

The 2010 Linz champion will earn $37,000.
