TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- Alla Kudryavtseva captured her first WTA Tour singles title with a straight-set victory over fellow Russian Elena Vesnina in Saturday's final of the Tashkent Open.

The seventh-seeded Kudryavtseva notched a 6-4, 6-4 win in her second career WTA final and second in as many weeks. She lost to Australia's Jarmila Groth last weekend in the title match at Guangzhou.

Vesnina, seeded fourth this week, fell to 0-4 lifetime in title matches. She also lost to compatriot Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova this summer in Istanbul and lost last year in finals at Auckland and New Haven.

A break of serve in the seventh game of the match gave Kudryavtseva the edge in the first set. The two traded breaks early in the second, but Kudryavtseva broke again in the seventh game and closed out the match in just over 90 minutes with her fifth ace.

This was just the second meeting between the two. Vesnina won the first, 6-3, 6-1, in qualifying for the 2008 Rome tournament.

Kudryavtseva collected a first prize of $37,000.
