Serena Williams has produced some great reflexes for tennis fans at the Rogers Cup -- and some great quips for the media:

- On grunting in women's tennis:

"I grunt. I don't have a problem with it. Grunting is in. Everyone is doing it. Guys are doing it. It's hot. It's what's now, it's popular. Everyone should do it."

- On Jackie and Lauralie, her two misbehaving dogs, who snatched her dinner when she wasn't looking before Wednesday's match:

"I had a long talk with them. The little one (Lauralie) waited patiently today and received her chicken. She was so cute, I couldn't resist. Mommy has to play and mommy is trying to feed them and, if I don't play, then it's going to be harder for me to provide for them."

- On the tweets she exchanges with her sister, Venus, choosing to share their conversations with the whole world:

"I feel like I am texting her. Venus will say something funny and I must reply. But that's not our main way of communicating. I give her a call."

- On whether the light blue top she wore to yesterday's interview was a signal the sisters are truly buying into the Miami Dolphins:

"Do the Dolphins wear blue? I think you're thinking of the (Dallas) Cowboys."

- On playing in the muggy Toronto heat this week:

"I like playing in the afternoon. It's hot and I feel I can burn more calories and take off five more pounds (for the coming U.S. Open). Every girl wants to lose weight. Read about it in my book, I've never been 100% comfortable with my body."

- On delighting photographers by doing the splits during a game-winning shot on Wednesday.

"Thank you. Wow. I was like: Oh, my God! I'm really flexible. I just love doing the splits off the court, so I never really expect to do it on the court, per se."
