NEW YORK - Andy Murray will finally get his rematch with Milos Raonic.

Both men defeated their third-round opponents at the U.S. Open on Saturday. The 15th-seeded Raonic breezed past American James Blake, 6-3, 6-0, 7-6 (7-3)  while No. 3 seed Murray took down Spaniard Feliciano Lopez 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-4).

Raonic upset Murray in April at the Barcelona Open in their first meeting. The two were scheduled to face one another at last month's Rogers Cup in Toronto before Murray pulled out of the tournament due to injury.

Top seed Roger Federer was also among Saturday's winners.

The 17-time Grand Slam king Federer, who captured his seventh Wimbledon title in July, needed just over two hours to beat 25th-seeded Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The super Swiss, who is tied with Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras with five U.S. Open titles, is also going for his seventh championship this year.

Federer won 26-of-27 net point opportunities on Saturday.

"I had no clue my stats were that good coming in," Federer said. "Fernando did have some good chances for good passing shots. Looking back, I don't remember missing too many volleys and overheads, all that stuff. Probably half the time I didn't have to volley because it was hard to hit a good pass."

Federer will play 23rd-seeded American Mardy Fish in the fourth round. Fish downed 16th-seeded Gilles Simon of France, 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in a late- night match.

Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, the No. 11 seed, beat American Jack Sock 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 6-1; No. 12 seed Marin Cilic of Croatia got past 17th- seeded Kei Nishikori of Japan 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3; and Martin Klizan of Slovakia defeated 32nd-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Almagro's next match will be against sixth-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych, who ousted 27th-seeded American Sam Querrey, 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
