TORONTO -- Big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic will miss the 2011 U.S. Open as he continues to recover from hip surgery.

The 20-year-old Canadian, who is considered to be one of the most-promising young players on the ATP World Tour, expects to return to action next month when Canada meets Israel in a Davis Cup playoff.

The 29th-ranked Raonic, who captured his first career ATP title in San Jose back in February, suffered a hip injury in a second-round match at Wimbledon in June and underwent surgery to fix the problem the first week of July.

The U.S. Open will get underway next Monday in New York.
