Sixth-seeded Canadian Milos Raonic edged No. 3-seed Janko Tipsarevic 6-7(5), 6-2, 7-6(7) in a quarterfinal match Friday at the Japan Open in Tokyo.

Raonic had 24 aces during the two-hour 43-minute battle. He is now 2-0 this season against Tipsarevic.

The 21-year-old Raonic will meet defending champion and No. 1 seed Andy Murray in a semifinal. Murray defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

Raonic and Murray have met twice this year, with the Canadian winning in the Barcelona quarterfinals and the world No. 3 prevailing in the fourth round at the U.S. Open

Kei Nishikori and Marcos Baghdatis will meet in the other semifinal.
