Rogers Cup gets boost
By QMI Agency
The Rexall Centre is upgrading its No. 2 court for the Rogers Cup, including the addition of Hawk-Eye, an electronic line-calling system used by the pro tennis tours. "Expanding Grandstand Court is a huge priority for our tournament as it will significantly enhance the fan experience," Rogers Cup tournament director Karl Hale said Wednesday in a statement. "We want to create a Grand Slam feel around our entire site and building out a full second show court is an important part of that process." The provincial Ministry of Tourism awarded $350,000 to cover most of the costs. The tournament will be held Aug. 4-12. |
