Canadian tennis player Rebecca Marino is taking a break from the WTA Tour because of fatigue.

"Earlier this year, after suffering from intense physical and mental fatigue, I decided to pull out of some events and take a bit of a break to rest and return stronger," Marino said Tuesday on Tennis Canada's website. "As the days went by and became weeks, I realized I would need more than just a few days to fully recover."

Marino, 21, has withdrawn from tournaments in Indian Wells, Calif., Miami and Charleston, S.C.

She didn't specify a date for her return, saying only it would be when she is "fully rested."
