Canadian tennis doubles stars earned a split at the French Open in Paris on Saturday.
Daniel Nestor of Toronto and partner Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia won their third-round match, 6-4, 7-5, against Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and Horia Tecau of Romania.
Nestor and Zimonjic move on to the quarterfinals where they will face either Feliciano Lopez and Jurgen Melzer or Marin Draganja and Florin Mergea.
On the women’s doubles side, Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa and Alicja Rosolska of Poland were defeated, 6-1, 6-2, by Cara Black of Zimbabwe and Sania Mirza of Indonesia.
In Sunday’s singles action, Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., is scheduled to face Marcel Granollers and Eugenie Bouchard of Westmount, Que., will take on Angelique Kerber. Both are fighting for a spot in the quarterfinals.
