A former French Open champ ended Rebecca Marino's run Friday at Roland Garros.
Marino, a 20-year-old Canadian, lost her third-round match to 2009 champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, 6-0-6-4.
The first set lasted only 17 minutes, but Marino rebounded in the second set and gave the Russian a battle.
Marino finished with 10 winners and four double-faults.
Canadian doubles star Daniel Nestor returns to action Saturday. He and partner Max Mirnyi, the second seeds, play a Round 2 match against Fabio Fognini and Filippo Volandri.
