PARIS, France - Two-time major champion Lleyton Hewitt has withdrawn from the French Open due to a left ankle injury.

The Australian was replaced in the draw by Frenchman Marc Gicquel, who is battling Spaniard Albert Montanes on Sunday.

Hewitt hasn't played on tour since March because of foot surgery.

Do you think it's a good idea for the U.S. Open to hold the men's final on a Monday?
