It was a good day for Vasek Pospisil at the Cincinnati Open.
The 24-year-old from Vernon, B.C., took out Czech opponent Radek Stepanek 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (4) in first-round men’s singles action Tuesday.
He followed that up hours later with a 7-5, 6-2 doubles win with American partner Jack Sock against Rohan Bopanna of India and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan.
Pospisil will be in tough next round as he gets set to face No. 2 seed Roger Federer.
As for doubles, Pospisil will face Stepanek again, except this time the Czech will be paired with Leander Paes of India.
