For the fourth time in as many tries this year, Milos Raonic failed to surpass a tournament's quarterfinal round.

Raonic, who hails from Thornhill, Ont., dropped a 7-5, 6-4 decision to Argentina's Carlos Berlocq at the Portugal Open on Friday.

World No. 62 Berlocq limited the hard-hitting Raonic, ranked ninth on the ATP Tour, to only six aces. Raonic, 23, double-faulted six times and had a 56% first-service rate.

Berlocq will now meet Daniel Gimeno-Traver in the Open's semifinals, while Raonic is forced to focus on next week's Madrid Open.
