Milos Raonic was upset during the second round of the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters Wednesday in Monaco.
Raonic, ranked No. 15 in the world, was beaten by Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (3), failing to set up a big-serving clash with Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina in the third round.
The 22-year-old native of Thornhill, Ont., has struggled against No. 49 Nieminen, losing in the Thailand Open quarterfinals last September.
Raonic returns to action at the Barcelona Open next week.
