Milos Raonic was stunned during the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters Wednesday.

Raonic, ranked No. 15 in the world, was beaten by Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(3), failing to set up a big-serving clash with Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina.

The 22-year-old native of Thornhill, Ont., has struggled against No. 49 Nieminen, losing in the Thailand Open quarterfinals at Bangkok in September 2012.

Raonic returns to action next week in Spain for the Barcelona Open.
