Jesse Levine advances in San Jose
By SPORTS NETWORK

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - Canadian Jesse Levine and Xavier Malisse were first-round winners at the SAP Open.

Levine defeated Bradley Klahn 7-5, 6-2. Klahn won two of the first three games of the second set before Levine won the next five to close out the match.

The No. 8 seed Malisse took out Go Soeda 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. He had 18 aces and won 4-of-7 break points.

Top-seeded Canadian slugger Milos Raonic is on hand as the two-time reigning champion. He beat Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin in last year's finale at HP Pavilion and has yet to lose a match in San Jose (8-0).

The second seed this week is 6-foot-9 American John Isner.

This long-time California event will move to Memphis next year. And after moving to Memphis in 2014, the tournament will then shift to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 2013 San Jose titlist will collect $98,700.
