Milos Raonic's slim hopes of qualifying for the ATO World Tour Finals next week in London were dashed Thursday.

Raonic, ranked 14th in the world and needing a run deep into the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris to qualify for the year-end tourney, lost in the third round 6-3, 7-6(1) to unseeded American Sam Querrey. The loss ended Raonic's season.

Earlier in the tournament Querrey knocked out second-seeded Novak Djokovic, who will end the year ranked No. 1 in the world.

It took Querrey just 71 minutes to upset 14th-seeded Raonic, who finished with 10 aces to put him over 1,000 on the year. Although Raonic saved three of four break points, he never got into a position to break back.

"I didn't create enough chances, didn't do enough with my shots," Raonic said, adding that he was feeling under the weather. "I'm sick at the moment, I don't have fever but I'm struggling with sinuses."

Querrey broke Raonic's serve in the eighth game of the first set to take control then put it away with the one-sided tie-breaker win in the second.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Janko Tipsarevic clinched the final two berths in the World Tour Finals by advancing to the quarterfinals in Paris.
