TORONTO - No surprise, the Bryan brothers conquered Canada again.

Maybe their domination at the Rogers Cup -- when it's in Upper Canada, er, Toronto, anyway -- is a little payback for that, you know, whole War of 1812 thing we had with the Yanks 200 years ago.

Whatever it is, Bob and Mike Bryan sure seem to like it at the Rexall Centre.

The tournament's second seeds won their fourth doubles title in Toronto Sunday, downing Spaniards Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez 6-1, 4-6, 12-10 to reclaim the title they last won in 2010.

"We've had a lot of success here in Toronto," Mike Bryan said. "Today was just another case. We've never won in Montreal but save the best for Toronto. That's nice."

The Bryans, coming off a gold-medal win at the Olympics, breezed through to the semifinals by winning three matches in straight sets before going the distance against Granollers and Lopez. Oddly, though, they didn't think the final was their toughest match of the week.

"We went from the centre court at Wimbledon, seeing the flag go up and being on the podium, to playing at an indoor club ... no fans, bad lighting, bad bounces," Bob Bryan said of their opener against Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo at the Mayfair West club, which was forced indoors due to rain. "It was a heroic effort to keep our mind together. Mike was starting to lose his cool. I thought he was going to quit, just walk off the court and pull a Jeff Tarango.

"He took a couple steps towards the chair and I'm like, 'No, no, no, don't quit on me.' That could have easily gotten very ugly."

The finish, though, was a thing of beauty. Again.
