Nestor tunes up for Wimbledon with win
By QMI AGENCY
Canadian Daniel Nestor and his Belarussian partner, Max Mirnyi, couldn't have had a better tuneup run for Wimbledon.
Nestor and Mirnyi, the top-ranked doubles team in the world and the No. 1 seeds for the grass-court Grand Slam, won their fourth title of the year Sunday in London, beating American twins Bob and Mike Bryan 6-3, 6-4 in the Queen's Club tournament final. It was their second win over the Bryan brothers in two weeks, with the first coming in the French Open final.
"It's unbelievable beating these guys two weeks in a row in finals," Nestor said. "They are probably our toughest opponents and the best team in the world over the long term.
"Max was serving really well, I think we've made a good switch over to grass. Now we have to stay sharp for Wimbledon."
The win in just 51 minutes was the fourth Queen's Club doubles title for Nestor and fourth this year.
