Milos Raonic's minor knee injury has apparently healed enough for him to open defence of his title at the SAP Open in San Jose.

Raonic was forced to pull out of Canada's Davis Cup tie with France last Sunday due to soreness in his left knee. Canada wound up losing the World Group tie 4-1.

Tennis Canada tweeted Tuesday that Raonic would play in the SAP Open, the tournament he won last year for his first career ATP title.

Raonic, seeded third in San Jose, is scheduled to take on Germany's Tobias Kamke in the second round of the SAP event Wednesday night. The 21-year-old from Thornhill, Ont., had a first-round bye.

Do you think it's a good idea for the U.S. Open to hold the men's final on a Monday?
