Bad news, good news for Raonic
By QMI Agency

Milos Raonic's men's singles run on grass ended Friday when he was mowed down by Philipp Petzschner in the quarterfinals of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany.

However, the Canadian is still alive in doubles and headed to the final.

Raonic was defeated 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 by Petzschner. Raonic fell behind 5-2 in the second-set tiebreak but rallied to force a third before losing to the German.

Petzschner, ranked No. 71 in the world, fought off three break points while taking two games off Raonic's serve.

It was the fourth quarterfinal appearance on the year for the No. 28-ranked Raonic, who is 25-12 in 2011.

In doubles, Raonic and Robin Haase of the Netherlands defeated Lleyton Hewitt and Peter Luczak 6-7(6), 7-6(4), 10-5.

In the final, they will meet the winner of a match between Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi against Christopher Kas and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
