Canadian Milos Raonic, riding a hot serve, has reached the quarterfinals of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany.

Raonic was good on 75% of his first serves and had 14 aces in defeating Germany's Tobias Kamke 7-6(2), 6-3 Wednesday.

The Halle grass court seems to suit Raonic, ranked No. 28 in the world and seeded eighth, as he faced only one break point and won the match in just over 70 minutes.

Kamke, ranked 88th in the world, won only seven points off Raonic's serves.

Raonic, 20, will face 71st-ranked German Philipp Petzschner Friday. Petzschner defeated Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2, 6-4 Wednesday.

At the Edgbaston Classic in Birmingham, England, Canada's Rebecca Marino won her second-round match, defeating Rika Fujiwara of Japan, 6-1 6-2.
