BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Nicolas Almagro and Juan Ignacio Chela each won their semifinal matches to finish out a double-dip Saturday and set up Sunday's final match of the $547,900 Copa Claro tennis event.
Rain on Friday forced players to play both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds on Saturday.
Top-seeded Almagro, who moved into the semifinals earlier in the day with a straight-sets win over Argentine wildcard Jose Acasuso, defeated Spaniard Tommy Robredo 7-5, 6-1 to secure a spot in the finals.
Robredo was the 2009 champ of this event, however, Almagro is still hot from last week's Costa do Sauipe championship.
In the day's final match, eighth seed Argentine Chela upset No. 2 seed Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in two sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Chela made the semifinals following a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over fourth-seeded Spaniard Albert Montanes in a match that was interrupted on Friday due to the rain and finished out on Saturday.
The 2011 Buenos Aires champion will earn $82,800.
