Soderling beats Roddick at Brisbane
By Sports Network

Brisbane, Australia – Top-seeded 2010 French Open runner-up Robin Soderling denied Andy Roddick of back-to-back titles, defeating the American in Sunday's final at the Brisbane International tennis event.

The Swedish Soderling needed a little more than 90 minutes to post a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Roddick, who beat Radek Stepanek to capture the title here last year.

Soderling, who will move up to No. 4 in the world rankings, earned his seventh career ATP singles championship while not dropping a set this week.

Roddick, the No. 2 seed, was trying to become just the eighth American-born player to win at least 30 career titles. He fell to 29-20 all-time in finals.

Do you think it's a good idea for the U.S. Open to hold the men's final on a Monday?
