Brisbane, Australia - Top-seeded 2010 French Open runner-up Robin Soderling and defending champion Andy Roddick each won their respective semifinal matches Saturday at the Brisbane International tennis event.
The Swedish Soderling beat 2009 Brisbane champion and 2010 runner-up Radek Stepanek 6-3, 7-5.
The two-time French Open finalist Soderling improved to 5-2 lifetime against Stepanek, who was trying to reach his third straight Brisbane final.
Roddick, the No. 2 seed, outlasted South African Kevin Anderson 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to secure his spot in Sunday's title match. Roddick handled Stepanek in last year's Brisbane finale.
Soderling leads the all-time series with Roddick by a 3-2 margin.
The winner of this $474,050 tournament will collect $73,000.
